Now that school is back in session and summer is over, we are looking back on our summer camp! Campers at Centro Latino’s Summer Camp played and studied hard for four weeks this summer.
Breakfast followed by an hour of math and an hour of reading plus games, lunch, art projects and special visitors provided a busy and enjoyable day. On Fridays a trip to the Clear Creek Activity Center pool or movies when there was rain ended each week.
Each week special visitors shared information with the campers. They included a Stephen Fox who played the guitar and talked about his work as a nurse, Sargeant Kelly Cable from the Police Department, Sheila Fawbush from the Extension Office who talked about a healthy diet and the Firemen who explained what to do in a fire and invited the campers to visit their large Red Truck.
Math and Reading scores improved over the summer and every one had fun.
