Healthier Choices for Centro Latino Families

Sheila Fawbush and Sarah Wright of the Shelby County Co-op Extension Office gave Centro Latino families a presentation on nutrition Wednesday, November 7th.

They described USDA food plate recommendations including portion amounts for fruits, vegetables and proteins.  They also distributed recipes and meat thermometers to help participants understand how to provide healthy meals for families.

Ms. Fawbush said, “We enjoyed sharing updates on good nutrition with the young families of Centro Latino.”
